Maine perspective

The Jackson Laboratory has a large presence in Maine and is contributing substantially to the state's economic, scientific and educational capacity.

Putting money back into Maine

As a consumer, employer and vendor, The Jackson Laboratory stimulates the local and state economy. Millions of dollars are spent in Maine annually, while most of the Laboratory's budget comes from outside Maine.

Educating future scientists and facilitating collaborations throughout Maine

The Jackson Laboratory is working with the many biomedical research centers and universities to build research capacity in our state. The Laboratory is also an international hub for training and educating scientists, and conducts outreach to Maine K-12 students.

Making our mark on Maine

The Jackson Laboratory is good for Maine.

The Jackson Laboratory has gone green! Here's how:

  • Energy efficiency
  • Reducing, reusing & recycling
  • Environmentally sound landscaping & maintenance
  • Reducing the number of cars on the road
  • Keeping our community beautiful

How did The Jackson Laboratory end up in Maine?

We have Edsel Ford and Roscoe B. Jackson to thank.
