Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive BiologyBrigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School

With board certification in both maternal-fetal medicine and clinical genetics, Dr Wilkins-Haug focuses on the integration of genetics within obstetric care. My current leadership positions include Director of the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Reproductive Genetics, and I am the William Lambert Richardson Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She has experience as the MFM fellowship director and developed the combined MFM-genetics fellowship program at her institution. She currently oversees the genetic counseling, perinatal consultation, fetal treatment and diagnostic testing at an academic medical center. Current genetic research includes investigating the genomics of pregnancy loss. In addition to these experiences, she has been the lead fetal interventionist for a 20-year collaborative program with Children's Hospital of Boston to alter the natural in utero history of aortic stenosis evolving to hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Their program established the safety and efficacy of fetal aortic valve dilation, and continues to assess predictors of success, examines cardiac, medical and neurologic outcomes and participates in the training of individuals who have successfully established similar programs at institutions worldwide. Lastly, she is an active clinical provider in the Maternal Fetal Medicine Practice and provides continuity care for women with high-risk pregnancies. This high-risk office has a national and international referral base and provides care and delivery for 2000 women a year.
