Enrica Pellegrino, Ph.D.

Department of Cell BiologyThe Francis Crick Institute, London, UK

Dr. Enrica Pellegrino is a postdoctoral fellow at The Francis Crick Institute, specializing in host-pathogen interactions in tuberculosis. Her research integrates gene editing and stem cell biology to model infectious diseases, particularly focusing on Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Dr. Pellegrino's work delves into cellular dynamics, with a particular emphasis on macrophages and the functions of organelles such as peroxisomes and lysosomes. During her PhD, she underwent extensive training at The Jackson Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Skarnes, where she further honed her expertise in cellular engineering techniques, enriching her understanding of genetic manipulation in stem cells and disease modeling.
