Femke Feringa, Ph.D.

Research AssociateVU University Amsterdam

Femke Feringa started her career with a PhD in molecular cell biology at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in the lab of Dr. René Medema. After graduating she decided to switch topics and use her expertise to dive into the molecular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). For her post-doctoral training she joined the lab of Dr. Rik van der Kant at the VU University in Amsterdam where she used human iPSC-derived brain cell types to understand how AD risk mutations affect glial cell biology and can contribute to AD development.
