Jimena Andersen, Ph.D.

Assistant ProfessorEmory University

Dr. Andersen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Genetics at Emory University. Her laboratory aims to understand the fundamental processes that shape the development and function of the human spinal cord and motor system and identify vulnerable links that predispose it to disease. Towards this goal, the lab uses stem cell-derived organoid and assembloid technologies. Dr. Andersen also co-supervises the Brain Organoid Hub at Emory, a space that aims to standardize, automate and innovate on the use of hiPSCs, organoids and assembloids by openly sharing findings with the community.
