We recruit diverse learners to our experiential programming for exceptional hands-on research training. The JAX Genomic Education (GE) team takes a holistic approach to program development, combining conceptual education with the science communications, collaboration, translational and skills training required to succeed in modern scientific and clinical settings.
Our programs accelerate the development of high school, undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, graduate and postdoctoral learners who are focused on careers in the biomedical sciences. JAX courses and workshops serve those same audiences in addition to clinicians, research assistants, scientists, lab technicians and science teachers. Through funding from HHMI, NIH, NSF and others, as well as academic partnerships with Tufts University, The University of Maine, UConn Health and Northeastern University’s Roux Institute, JAX GE’s in-person, virtual and online education programs reach learners across the U.S and the globe.
The Genomic Education team at The Jackson Laboratory is committed to creating diverse and inclusive educational programs where all students, employees and visitors feel valued and included in our mission to improve human health through genomics research, scientific resources and education. We believe human diversity is an essential ingredient for empowering the global biomedical community, and therefore our programs endeavor to reflect, embrace and celebrate the diversity of our world.
