National Press Week
What is Press Week?
Each summer, The Jackson Laboratory joins with Johns Hopkins University to host Press Week, held in July during the second week of the world-renowned Short Course in Medical and Experimental Mammalian Genetics. Press Week gives science writers and journalists from across the nation a chance to hear first-hand from some of the world's leading researchers and clinicians about the latest breakthroughs in the rapidly advancing fields of molecular biology and medical genetics.Major research findings are often announced during Press Week briefings, giving journalists the opportunity to file national news stories daily. And with the number of Press Week participants limited to fewer than two dozen, journalists can have direct, one-on-one access to top scientists who attend the Short Course.
