Sathyabaarathi Ravichandran, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral AssociateThe Jackson Laboratory
Dr. Sathyabaarthi Ravichandran earned her B.Tech in Bioinformatics from SASTRA University, India followed by her Ph.D. in Computational Biology from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. During her PhD, she has developed computational approaches to understand global perturbations in humans in response to acute infections and identified blood-based biomarkers to differential between acute viral and bacterial infections.
Currently, she is conducting her postdoctoral research on “influenza vaccine responsiveness in older adults” in Dr. Duygu Ucar’s laboratory at the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine (JAX-GM). Towards this, she is performing comprehensive data analysis at the genomic and functional level to associate age-related immune alterations with responder or non-responder status. This could potentially aid in progressing towards precision vaccinology, and in developing more effective influenza vaccines.
