Peter E. Gabriel, M.D., MSE, is the Chief Oncology Informatics Officer for the Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center. He has a technical background in computer science and engineering, clinical training in internal medicine, and subspecialty board certification in clinical informatics. His work focuses on leveraging electronic health record technology and data analytics to improve clinical care and research in oncology.

Dr. Gabriel is also an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, an Associate Director and Innovation Faculty member at the Penn Center for Cancer Care Innovation, and a Senior Fellow in the Penn Institute of Biomedical Informatics. Nationally, he is a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association and a member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network EHR Advisory Committee and the Epic Oncology and Radiation Oncology Steering Boards.
