Tao Pan is a Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Chicago. Throughout his career he has made significant contributions to several areas of RNA science including catalysis, folding, biology, modification, and functional genomics. His current interests focus on the functional genomics and biology of tRNA, and the dynamic epitranscriptome of RNA modifications. He has developed multiple technologies to study RNA modifications transcriptome-wide and applied those to biological investigations in basic and clinical science.
