While JAX can and does ship its animals to more than 60 countries, we have also authorized certain organizations to breed, import, and distribute JAX® Mice on our behalf in some of these countries.

To support local sales and service to international researchers, we have authorized certain organizations to import and distribute JAX® Mice. For a list of these organizations, please see below.
Charles River supplies JAX® Mice strains to many European and some Asian countries:
CHARLES RIVER supplies some higher-volume, authentic J strains to regional markets in Europe, Scandinavia, the Balkans and parts of Asia. Through this cooperative agreement, Charles River serves as our exclusive commercial breeder of many popular JAX® Mice strains, as well as our exclusive commercial distributor of imported JAX® Mice strains. Only JAX® Mice strains bred by Charles River are equivalent in genetic quality to those bred by The Jackson Laboratory and, as such, they may published as “J” strains.

Where appropriate, we also include other organizations licensed to breed some common JAX mice as substrains, as well as organizations approved to assist in distribution of JAX strains in select markets.
