Research Assistant I

I am interested in how neurodegenerative disease can be slowed or even prevented with different genetic or environmental changes.

I help manage the colony and assist in phenotyping for various projects. This includes general colony maintenance such as refreshing breeders, weaning, sampling litters, organization of the colonies. Keeping the colony healthy and well organized is beneficial to everyone in the lab and keeps it running smoothly, and with lots of hands on work with the mice, you will see when things are out of the ordinary with different strains. I also help with phenotyping and gathering data, and occasionally doing some more wet lab work.
