How Does the Computational Sciences Resource Work?

The majority of interactions are project-based, following the processes and timelines of collaborative, grant-funded research. Milestones and deadlines are based on funding timeframes, key dates, and experimental plans. Large projects implement Research Project Management methodologies, which include a constant feedback and prioritization process with faculty. Smaller efforts utilize feedback from faculty directly to staff and through management about staff performance. At a high level, leadership meets quarterly with designated faculty partners to review and assess collaborator satisfaction, as well as with collaborating PIs on an as-needed basis.

Capacity is forecasted; staff and contractors meet the demands of the department. Projects go through an intake process and are resourced as quickly as possible.

CS is supported by NIH Grant No. P30 CA034196. These services are limited to Jackson Laboratory researchers and investigators only.
